Delivery & Returns
Delivery of Original Artwork
Each original painting by Janine Lees is individually packaged with care to ensure it reaches its new owner safely.
Because original artworks are unique and can vary considerably in size, weight, framing and packaging requirements, delivery arrangements are based on the individual artwork.
UK Delivery
Original artworks can be delivered within the UK.
Delivery costs will be calculated according to the size, weight and value of the artwork and the delivery address. Larger, valuable or particularly fragile works may be delivered using a specialist art courier to ensure they are handled with appropriate care.
Where an artwork is framed with glass, additional packaging and specialist transportation may be required.
The estimated delivery cost and timescale will be confirmed before dispatch where this cannot be calculated accurately at checkout.
Once an artwork has been dispatched, the customer will be provided with the available delivery or tracking information.
International Delivery
International delivery is available for selected artworks by prior arrangement.
Because the cost and requirements of transporting original artwork internationally vary considerably depending on the destination, size, weight, framing and packaging requirements, international shipping is not automatically calculated at checkout.
Customers wishing to purchase an artwork for delivery outside the UK are invited to contact Janine Lees before completing their purchase.
A delivery quotation will then be obtained based on the individual artwork and destination. The customer will be informed of the delivery cost and any relevant arrangements before the order is confirmed.
International shipments may require customs documentation and export information. The Artist will provide the documentation reasonably required for the shipment.
Customs, Import Duties and Taxes
Customers purchasing artwork for delivery outside the UK are responsible for any import duties, taxes, customs charges, clearance fees or other charges imposed by the destination country, unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
These charges are determined by the destination country's authorities and are outside the Artist's control. Customers are responsible for checking any potential import charges that may apply before placing an international order.
The Artist cannot guarantee the amount of any customs or import charges.
Framed Artwork and Glass
Some original artworks are supplied in frames containing glass.
Because glass can be vulnerable to breakage during transportation, framed artworks may require additional protective packaging or specialist delivery.
Where appropriate, the Artist may recommend an alternative glazing material or specialist courier service for particularly fragile or valuable works.
The Artist will always seek to use a delivery method that provides a suitable balance between protection, security and cost.
Collection
Where appropriate, local collection may be arranged by prior agreement.
Collection arrangements, including the date, time and location, must be agreed with the Artist before collection.
Returns
Customers purchasing an original artwork online have statutory rights under UK consumer law.
Where the statutory cancellation right applies, customers may cancel their purchase within 14 days of receiving the artwork, without giving a reason. The customer must notify the Artist of their decision within the applicable cancellation period and return the artwork within the required timeframe.
The artwork should be returned in its original condition and, where reasonably possible, using its original packaging.
Unless the artwork is faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied, the customer will normally be responsible for the cost of returning the artwork.
Where an artwork arrives damaged, the customer should contact Janine Lees as soon as possible and provide photographs of the artwork and its packaging. This will allow the Artist to assess the damage and, where appropriate, liaise with the delivery provider.
Nothing in this policy affects the customer's statutory rights.
Bespoke and Commissioned Artwork
Specially commissioned or personalised artwork may be subject to different cancellation and return arrangements where permitted by UK consumer law.
The applicable terms will be discussed and agreed with the customer before work begins.
