Bio

A deep love of nature and a profound respect for animals is the key inspiration behind Janine's art and by focusing predominately on the eyes, she aims to capture the personality and emotion of each animal as if bringing them to life on the canvas. Animals have always played a huge part in her life and she feels deeply connected to them: by concentrating on expression, texture and colours it has enabled her to bring animals to life on the canvas as though they are communicating directly to us.

Born in North Yorkshire, Janine studied Marketing at the University of Huddersfield in 1999 before going on to achieve a HND Graphic Design in Burton in 2004. After working in the media industry for 15 years, Janine's passion for creating art led her to become a full-time professional artist in 2018 and has been working from her studio in York ever since.
